U.S. Department of Labor Awards Mercury Associates MBA Fellows Corporate Housing Management Contract

Mercury Associates and Oakwood Worldwide Form Partnership

Gaithersburg, Md. — June 12, 2006 — The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded Mercury Associates, Inc. a contract to provide corporate housing management services for DOL's MBA (Masters of Business Administration) Fellows Program. The small business set-aside contract covers one year plus four option years and is valued at $1.47 million if DOL exercises all options.

Through this contract, Mercury Associates will plan, schedule, coordinate and assure effective and economical corporate housing services for the MBA Fellows' designated locations and has partnered with Oakwood Worldwide, Inc., the world's largest temporary housing company, to provide 90-day stays at up to 20 properties in the U.S.

The DOL MBA Fellows Program is a component of DOL's Strategic Human Capital Management Program. The two-year program is designed to prepare the Fellows for future leadership positions in DOL. Fellows are required to participate in classroom training and developmental rotational assignments to further develop and enhance their leadership competencies. MBA Fellows participate in rotational assignments at DOL agencies in its headquarters offices in Washington, D.C. and in DOL regional and field offices.

Some of Mercury Associates' work with federal agency employee mobility issues includes the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Services' household goods shipment procurement programs and practices, Drug Enforcement Agency's domestic and international permanent change of station assistance programs, and Department of Defense, Defense Integrated Travel & Relocation Solutions (DITRS) project.
