Gaithersburg, Md. – March 29, 2007
– Mercury Associates, Inc., the largest independent fleet management
consulting company in North America, has established an
international affiliate program creating a network of partners to
provide fleet, travel, and mobility management consulting services
for businesses and government agencies worldwide. The program
combines Mercury’s extensive fleet management consulting experience
in the U.S. with its affiliates’ market knowledge and business
relationships in their respective countries.
“Our international affiliate program will enable Mercury Associates
to meet the growing international demand for truly objective and
unbiased fleet management consulting, training and technical
guidance. We established the program in response to numerous
inquiries and requests, both from our U.S.-based clients who have
employees and subsidiaries outside the U.S. and from consulting
firms around the world interested in joining forces with us,” said
Paul Lauria, president of Mercury. “Working in tandem with our
affiliates enables us to jointly pursue large scale, cross-border
opportunities in fleet, travel, and mobility management consulting.”
Mercury’s first project with an international affiliate is a
comprehensive review of fleet management and operating practices for
Slovak Telecom’s fleet of 2,000 vehicles. Located in Bratislava,
Slovakia, Slovak Telecom is a member of the Deutsche Telekom Group
of companies, which includes T-Mobile. Mercury’s partner on the
project is its Central and Eastern Europe affiliate Incoma Research
of Prague, a member of the GfK Group based in Nuremberg, Germany.
In addition to Incoma, Mercury’s international affiliates include
Global Automotive Consultancy, Delft, The Netherlands; Goodwood
Corporate Mobility, Chichester England; Outcome Group, Wellington,
New Zealand and JARIC Environment, Safety, and Health Services, Ltd.
of Port of Spain, Trinidad.
In April, Mercury will conduct two-day fleet management seminars for
the Asia Business Forum in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“We expect to be doing quite a few seminars of this type in the near
future,” continued Lauria. “There is an acute need for bona fide
best practices training of fleet managers around the world. For
instance, we have found that most fleet management conferences or
‘forums’ in Europe are really just marketing vehicles for industry
suppliers. The demand for unbiased, objective technical and
management training has not been met to date.”
